Aix-en-Provence
Leonard Maye has spent sixty-one years doing the sensible thing. It has cost him nothing anyone could see.
Now his oldest friend is dead, the funeral is in Provence, and the widow is the woman Leonard decided, thirty-eight years ago, it would be unreasonable to love.
The series
Standalone stories. Real places. Decent people, and what being decent has cost them. Four so far, four more to come. Read them in any order.

The long answer
Each story asks what a decent person gives up in order to stay decent. None of them answers too neatly.
Miles J. Morrow was born in the East End of London and has lived for many years on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia. He spent most of his working life as a copywriter and has been writing short fiction since 2002. He lives with his partner of forty years, and between them they have travelled a good deal further than either expected to.
A Love Story is his series of standalone stories about people who have, for good reasons, lived carefully. They can be read in any order and are published by Salt & Anchor Press.
That's the deal. He hasn't the time for anything else, and neither have you.
